Fire Department
The City of Cynthiana Fire Department is required to have 100 hours of continuing education each year. In addition to fire suppression, they also conduct inspections and answer alarm drops at local businesses. Every year a fire prevention education program is conducted through the school system ending with a parade of fire trucks and a day of fun for the youth of the community. A group tour of the Fire Department can be arranged by calling 234-7158. This group of dedicated men are also trained as First Responders. They provide assistance at the scene of injury accidents. The Cynthiana Fire Department will also come to your rescue in another way. If you are unfortunate enough to lock your keys in your vehicle or lock yourself out of your dwelling, just give the Fire Department a call at 234-7158 for a helping hand. This department is currently participating in a recycling program that pays them to collect old cell phones and ink cartridges. A part of the funds received for these items will be returned to support the Kentucky Firefighter Association. Each year this department also participates in the “Fill the Boot” campaign to collect donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation. The Fire Department performs a vital service to our citizens and our community. They have a rich history of dedicated, competent firefighters who work to make our community a safer place to work and live.
